Long-tail keywords are longer, more specific keyword phrases that visitors are more likely to use when they are nearing a point of purchase or using voice search. The search volume for most long-tail keywords is lower than for short-tail or “head” keywords. They appear to be counter-intuitive at first, but they can be extremely valuable if used correctly.

This type of data will assist you in prioritizing the keywords that will be easiest for you to rank for.

  • Once you are logged in, go to “domain overview” and type in the URL of your competitor’s website.

On the result page, under “Top organic keywords,” click “View full reports.”

How to Find Long-Tail Keywords Using Seed Keywords:

Another popular method used by SEOs to find long-tail keywords is using seed keywords. This method is easier to use and produces a large number of long keywords.

This method is as follows:

  • Log in to your SEMrush dashboard.
  • Click on the Keyword Magic Tool and scroll down to Keyword Research.
  • Enter your seed keyword here.

On the results page, select “advanced filters” and change the word count from 3 to 15.

When you click “Apply filters,” the keyword magic tool will come up with hundreds of long-tail keywords with traffic in a matter of minutes.

2. KWFinder:

This is a new entrant in the market for keyword research tools. But because KWfinder has so many features and functions, it is without a doubt one of the best tools out there.

KWfinder gives you all the relevant keyword data, including the level of difficulty, to help you find long-tail keywords that are easy to rank for.

3. Answer the Public:

Answer the Public is one of my favourite free long-tail keyword research tools. This one is similar to UberSuggest, but it has one distinct advantage.

You can use this tool to search for any keyword and it will show you the most frequently asked questions about that “keyword” or “topic” in search engines. This is the best long-tail keyword finder tool that is free.

4. Google’s Auto Suggestion Tool

Google’s auto-suggest feature is your first free tool. This is a useful Google feature that will allow you to quickly find long-tail keywords in any niche. Google uses popularity to populate keywords (search terms).

All you have to do is begin typing your first keyword and choose from the auto-suggestion options.

To see additional details such as the number of searches, CPC, competition, and other important information, you’ll need to use another keyword tool. (I usually skip the competition check on my micro-niche site because it is easier to get a higher ranking on a niche site.)

You can do the same with Amazon. Amazon’s search is powered by its own engine, and most of the time, you’ll find keywords that show a lot of buying intent.

Google Auto-suggest:

This is a tool developed by Keyword Tool Dominator that takes Google’s auto-suggest feature to the next level.

This free tool makes it easy to find all the keywords that are automatically suggested and download them in.csv format.

You can then use any of your favourite keyword research tools to double-check the keyword’s other vital details.

5. WordTracker: Keyword Tool

WordTracker is a well-known SEO keyword research tool. With the WordTracker Keyword Tool, it’s easy to find profitable long-tail keywords and important information like searches, competition, IAAT (keyword in anchor and text), and KEI (keyword effectiveness index).
